Awake! 1967 August 22 p.27, 28 - The apostle Paul, in giving instructions on congregational meetings of Christians, stated, among other things 1 Tim. 2:12: "I do not permit a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man." This rule is based on a principle that governs the relations between the sexes, namely: 1 Cor. 11:3 "The head of every man is the Christ; in turn the head of a woman is the man; in turn the head of the Christ is God," The logic of headship must be apparent to all.
If two or more intelligent persons are to cooperate, there must be organization, & for organization to be successful there must be a head. That Jehovah God, the Father, is the Head of his Son, Jesus Christ, is obvious; also, that his Son should be the head of his congregation.
... women are not to exercise authority over Christian men in the Christian congregation nor are they to assume authority over their own husbands in their homes.
Today even cults like these Jehovah Witnesses are experiencing their own children [especially females who must suffer the wrath of the male elders] in going to justice system's authorities over abuse. One need only check out "Spiritual Shepherds" an hour long documentary on the sexual abuse some J. W. children have gone through from the their own church's protected pedophile.

Child abuse policy:
- Consistently, the Watchtower Society & JW congregations have responded to an abuse outcry with concern for the organization's loss of reputation or prestige, rather than concern for victimized children
- First, if any allegation is made against someone, that person must confess or there must be two witnesses to the act for it to be proven: 'No single witness should rise up against a man respecting any error or any sin'
- Secondly, there is an admonishment against taking legal action against a fellow Jehovah's Witness. Members are encouraged to keep matters resolved within the congregation & not go outside to worldly courts for assistance:
- Two elders meet separately with the accused & the accuser to see what each says on the matter. If the accused denies the charge, the two elders may arrange for him & the victim to restate their position in each other's presence, with elders also there. If, during that meeting, the accused still denies the charges & there are no others who can substantiate them, the elders cannot take action within the congregation at that time. However, even if the elders cannot take congregational action, they are expected to report the allegation to the branch office of Jehovah's Witnesses in their country, if local privacy laws permit.

Charles T. Russell, Religious Figure

Born: 16 February 1852
Birthplace: Allegheny , Pennsylvania
Death: 31 October 1916
Best Known As: Founder of the Watchtower Society

Active in the Christian Congregationalist church in Pennsylvania, Charles T. Russell broke off & formed an independent congregation in 1880.

Russell wrote & lectured on Biblical prophesy, preaching that the return of the invisible spirit of Jesus Christ happened in 1874.
Russell believed that Jesus would rule for 1,000 years, & that all people (living & dead) would eventually be divinely judged.
Russell began publishing his journal, The Watch Tower & Herald of Christ's Presence, in 1879, & in 1884 he formed The Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society.
He traveled the world & relocated to Brooklyn, New York, earning followers across the globe.
Russell did not claim divinity himself, nor did he declare any special revelations, but he did have a strict interpretation of the Bible & his leadership caused some to call him a messenger chosen by God.
After his death his followers split, with some following Judge Joseph F. Rutherford, who coined the term "Jehovah's Witnesses" in the 1930s.
Today the religion claims 6,000,000 members worldwide.
A JW fact is that God needed to have a visible, theocratic organization on earth to accurately represent Him. Throughout history, this true organization had a remnant of faithful JW (Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, etc.) but it wasn't until the late 1800's that Charles Taze Russell formerly began what is now known as the WT Bible & Tract Society which is run out of Brooklyn, New York. This organization claims to be the only true channel of God's truth on earth today & that it alone can properly interpret God's word since it is the angel directed, prophet of God on earth.

Charles Taze Russell dealt in pyramidology , astrology, sun god emblems & Masonic imagery.

Russell measured pyramid tunnels to verify his dates 1874, 1878, 1881, 1914 , 1915 & 1918,

Rutherford continued this pyramidology until 1928 then said it was under the direction of Satan the Devil.

The JW have several 'book studies' each week - during these 'book studies' potential converts are constantly exposed to well programmed facts of their doctrines to counteract all Christian teachings.

When potential converts study with the JW, they agree to attend 5 meetings a week - taught from the WT literature.

A schedule of door-to-door canvassing is required whereas they distribute the WT literature, acquire donations, & forward all monies to the headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.

The WT Society statistics indicate that 740 house calls are required to recruit.

When it came time for the savior to be born, Michael the Archangel became a human, in the form of Jesus. Where does it teach in the Bible that Jesus is Michael the archangel?
Jesus rose from the dead as a spirit, not physically [his body was dissolved & taken by God] & during his visitations to people on earth, he manifested a temporary physical body for them to see & touch. Thus began the true Christian church of Jehovah's followers.
Christendom is filled with pastors who are antichrists, in churches run by Satan,
Only the JW "theocratic" organization lead by several men in Brooklyn, New York, is true.
Russell served as the teacher & guide for the organization which taught that Jesus returned invisibly in 1914 & is now reigning in heaven.
When Jesus finally returns physical to earth, which will happen at the time of the Battle of Armageddon, He will set up his earthly 1000 year kingdom. During this 1000 year period, people will be resurrected & have a second chance to receive eternal salvation by following the principles of Jehovah's Organization on earth known as the WT Bible & Tract Society.
After the millennium, those who reject God & His organization will be annihilated; that is, they will cease to exist. The rest of the JW who have faithfully followed God's organization on earth will be saved from eternal annihilation & reside forever on Paradise earth.
Heaven, however, is a place for a special group of 144,000 JW -- the only ones who are "born again" & who alone are allowed to take communion in their annual communion service. These are the ones who have "immortal life," all other Witnesses have "everlasting life."
Those with immortal life do not have resurrected bodies. They have "spirit bodies." Those on Paradise Earth have everlasting life & consists of a resurrected body that must be maintained through eating, rest, etc.

The average experienced JW [using WT indoctrination] can easily contradict an average Christian's belief convincingly - eventually getting their converts to believe teachings from their books:

None of the door knocking JW's who came to visit, like the door knocking Mormons, would dare read the draft of this commentary - knowing such a manuscript was in the room seemed to place them into a very uneasy position.
Often on their visits, the questions would arise, why are you forbidden from reading other religions' doctrines; or for that matter, why are you not allowed to even question your own tenets;
why do you have to avoid independent thinking, Watch Tower publication 1/15/83 p. 22-27 - never a reply.
Great uneasiness always surfaced & ended future visits after introducing & showing them a copy of their 1917 Studies in Scripture, series 7, the Finished Mystery along with their 1988 'Revelation, Its Grande Climax'.

Their founder, Charles Taze Russell, filled this book with predictions. These 1917 & 1908 books contain commentaries on Revelation. The 1988 book points its finger to governments as the 666 beast, while the 1917 book has Russell pointing his finger to the papacy as the 666 beast [using a numbered crown].

The 1988 book speaks highly of the 1917 book (without ever paraphrasing from it). The 1917 book predicted total peace after WW I [p. 58 & elsewhere] - no more wars or revolutions after 1925 - Jews will get back Palestine in 1980 rather than in 1948 - & more to come.

From Old & New Testament Scriptures & from their own tenants a false prophet will predict falsely. One of their books, or both, is a liar - which speaks for themselves & their people.

In the 1917's Studies in Scripture, series 7, the Finished Mystery, page 26, Russell's writer states,

'When the Lord's people hate the idea of a class that seeks to be lords over God's heritage; they hate something that the Lord hates.'

Yet the Jehovah Witnesses - from the following articles, show that they believe they are a conquering class.

Deut. 18:22 "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken...".

A false prophet will predict falsely

The JW'S claim to be the prophet of God & the only true announcers of Jehovah's coming kingdom.

If this was true, then what they prophesized should have been proven to be true; but when it came to predicting the future, the WT goofed big time.

The JW organization, well known for constantly prophesying falsely, began with Charles Taze Russell in 1872.

In 1884, Russell founded the eventually named WT Society, which became the legal corporation used by the JW.

The WT Bible & Tract Society claims that it alone is the channel of information between God & humanity.

They base this claim on a complicated, Bible-based chronology devised by Adventist N. H. Barbour in 1875.
The chronology stated that Jesus had invisibly returned to earth in 1874 to set up his kingdom, & that in 1914, at the end of the "Gentile Times", Jesus would come to judge the earth & annihilate the wicked. Since they believed Jesus was ruling the world invisibly, they claimed for themselves a position as God's channel of communication with mankind.

When nothing supernatural happened in 1918, the WT Society looked forward to momentous events in 1925. "Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob & the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection." "The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914." WT 9/1/22, page 262

1926 "Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not state so. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; & that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw away everything." The WT, page 232
1931 "There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, & 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time...& they also learned to quit fixing dates." Vindication, page 338
Charles Taze Russell had been held to be the "Faithful and Wise Servant" of Matthew 24:45-47, but by 1928 the Society applied that to its leaders.
In 1929, the Society built a mansion named Beth Sarim to house the resurrected prophets, who were expected to arrive soon - promising momentous events during the 1940's.

In 1966 the WT Society decided that the year 1975 was "significant", because their calculations marked it at the end of six thousand years since the creation of Adam & Eve.

When the year 1994 arrived (1914 plus 80 years), nothing supernatural happened.
Their claim that Jesus had appointed the WT Society special status in 1918 was becoming hard to defend.
In 1995, the WT Society decided that "generation" did not mean a physical generation (i.e. 80 years) but meant "age", as in "era". Thus they extended the "end times" indefinitely.
Watchtower December 15, 1990 p.26 For over a century, delightful, correct words of truth covering every aspect of life have been presented in the Watch Tower Society's publications and widely distributed in many languages.
Watchtower 1959 October 1 p.607 Questions from Readers The literature published by the Watch Tower Society is published in the name of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. Regardless of who may write certain articles, they are checked carefully by members of the governing body before they are published; so they are properly viewed as coming from the Society. .... So we let the literature speak for itself.
They say they are not a False Prophet.

A former JW created a web site to show the world quotes of self aggrandizement & false predictions in regards to JW's beliefs - http://quotes.watchtower.ca - resulting in a law suit;
I can imagine the argument of the address used for the site, but not the arguments in the law suit. The JW organization has unbelievably sued someone for distributing material from their Watchtower.
This guy once upon a time door-to-door pusher of their Watchtower offers up selected in-context quotes for free, & they are suing him!

Some of their reasons listed in the court document are hilarious; perhaps because the quotes are very "embarrassing", with potential to cause "loss of reputation & goodwill". In other words if potential new comers visited this site before getting brain washed it would damage their reputation & credibility:

21. The content of the CD-ROMs is not readily available to the general public. Some of the content is intended only for Jehovah's Witnesses, & the introductory letter that precedes the License Agreement in the CD-ROMs restricts their use to Jehovah's Witnesses.

D. THE DEFENDANTS ACTIVITIES

34. As a result of his activities, the Plaintiffs have suffered and will continue to suffer damages, including but not limited to loss of reputation & goodwill.

An active Jehovah's Witness, known on Internet as 'Zev', recently discovered from other posters that the Watch Tower Society was in alliance with the United Nations by their listing among its NGOs (Non-Government Organizations) & DPIs (Department of Public Information) since 1992.

To be accepted by the UN as an NGO, an organization must make a formal application & agree to support the UN's worldwide peace & humanitarian objectives.

After being accepted as an NGO, an organization may make further application if they wish to also be listed as a DPI, & must provide documented proof that they subscribe to, support, aggressively advertise & promote UN objectives. (It might be likened to pledging allegiance to one's country.)

Periodic renewal is required to maintain status. To do so gains certain benefits for an organization, such as air travel for missionaries on UN flights.

Many religious organizations conscientiously participate as members of the United Nations' NGOs, & there is nothing wrong with that. However, the issue about the Watch Tower organization doing so arises because their leadership has consistently characterized the United Nations as the prophetic "disgusting thing", the "image of the beast" whose number of its name is 666 (Rev.13:11-18), with whom alliance must be avoided at all cost to have Jehovah's approval.

See for example the Watch Tower publication "Revelation--Its Grand Climax at Hand" (1988), pg 195, para.31; also pg 204-205, paras. 13-14. Also note the illustration on the right from the book "Babylon the Great Has Fallen" (1966), page 577, where the United Nations is depicted behind the harlot of Revelation riding the back of the prophetic "wild beast with seven heads & ten horns".

That year, Jehovah's Witnesses unanimously adopted a resolution at their 1966 district assemblies around the world, vowing to remain completely separate from the Devil's world, its religions & governments, including the United Nations.

The question then arises, how can the Watchtower represent itself to the UN, with proof that it is an advertiser & supporter of UN objectives when, in fact, their literature aggressively opposes the UN & its objectives?

Considering the Watchtower's alliance with the very organization it has blatantly condemned from its inception, & even more so all other religions for endorsing it, it appears the Watch Tower leadership had to intentionally misrepresent itself with so-called documented 'proofs' (four required) of their activities that aggressively promote the mission & objectives of the United Nations' charter.

Little wonder then that numerous Jehovah's Witnesses have expressed shock, especially since a Witness can be disfellowshipped, shunned, & doomed for something as benign as work in their employment on a non-JW church.

Both current & former members of Jehovah's Witnesses called or wrote the UN to inquire whether this was all true, & whether they were aware of the Watchtower religion's subversive teaching about the United Nations.

A representative of the UN informed callers that an investigation into the matter would be initiated.

To avert the inevitable, the Watch Tower organization promptly sent a fax to the UN requesting resignation & withdrawal from the list of NGOs& DPIs. The UN acknowledged their resignation in a memo dated October 9, 2001.

Many Jehovah's Witnesses remain quite disturbed by the obvious hypocracy of this episode.

'Zev' was so disillusioned by it that he developed a website compiling the documented proof of the Watchtower's involvement with the United Nations.

It would be interesting to see what "proofs" the Watchtower organization provided to the UN in its applications to gain & maintain status as NGO & DPI since 1992, but since they voluntarily resigned without an investigation, the UN has respectfully withheld that information.
