Apparently, the suspended US commander of the prison where the worst abuses took place, Brigadier General Janis Karpinski, has refused to take the fall by herself & has implicated the CIA, Military Intelligence & private US government contractors in the torturing of POW's & in the raping of Iraqi women detainees as well.

Brigadier General Janis Karpinski said to the Washington Post that Military Intelligence, rather than the Military Police, dictated the treatment of prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison. "The prison, & that particular cellblock where the events took place, were under the control of the Military Intelligence command," Brigadier General Karpinski said. A month before the alleged abuses & rapes occurred, she said, a team of CIA, Military Intelligence officers & private consultants under the employ of the US government came to Abu Ghraib. "Their main & specific mission was to give the interrogators new techniques to get more information from detainees," she said.

Today, new photographs were sent to La Voz de Aztlan from confidential sources depicting the shocking rapes of two Iraqi women by what are purported to be US Military Intelligence personnel & private US mercenaries in military fatigues. It is now known that hundreds of these photographs had been in circulation among the troops in Iraq. The graphic photos were being swapped between the soldiers like baseball cards. Speaking on condition of anonymity, one Mexican-American soldier told La Voz de Aztlan, "Maybe the officers didn't know what was going on, but everybody else did. I have seen literally hundreds of these types of pictures." Many of the pictures were destroyed last September when the luggage of soldiers was searched as they left Iraq, he said

The Taguba report states that "military intelligence interrogators & other U.S. Government Agency interrogators actively requested that Military Police guards set physical & mental conditions for favorable interrogation of witnesses."The report noted that one civilian interrogator, "clearly knew his instructions" to the Military Police equated to physical & sexual abuse. It is not known whether these instructions included, or led to, the raping of Iraqi women detainees as well.

for example the "My Lai Massacre" On March 16, 1968 the angry & frustrated men of Charlie Company, 11th Brigade, American Division entered the village of My Lai. "This is what you've been waiting for -- search & destroy -- and you've got it," said their superior officers. Agitated troops, under the command of Lt. William Calley, entered the village poised for engagement with the elusive Vietcong. The "search & destroy" mission degenerated into the massacre of over 300 civilians

Calley ordered his men to enter the village firing, even though there was no opposing fire. Several old men were bayoneted, praying women & children were shot in the back of the head, & at least one girl was raped, & then killed. Calley rounded up a group of the villagers, ordered them into a ditch, & mowed them down in a fury of machine gun fire - the American way. Word of the massacre reached the American public in November of 1969 through journalist Seymour Hersh's published story. The military investigation resulted in Calley's being charged with murder in September 1969. At his trial, Calley testified that he was ordered by Captain Ernest Medina to kill everyone in the village of My Lai. Still, there was only enough photographic & recorded evidence to convict Calley, alone, of murder. He was sentenced to life in prison, but was released in 1974, only 5 years later.

The AGENT ORANGE: New research shows it is still creating environmental chaos, poisoning the food chain & causing serious concern over its effects on human health.

Agent Orange is a cocktail of chemicals that were stored in drums marked with an orange band. It was contaminated with TCDD [the most poisonous dioxin, known to cause cancer & other diseases]. In total, 11m gallons were sprayed from giant C 123 cargo planes over South Vietnam between 1961 & 71, over 10% of the country - 14% of the area targeted was farmland. Why South Vietnam?

The dioxins from the past sprays are present & are entering the food chain today. The Vietnamese government claims there are so many children born with problems caused by dioxin that they have had to set up a network of 11 special schools - so called 'peace villages' - across the country. The Vietnamese have long claimed that Agent Orange has seriously damaged the health of those living in the areas where it was used. The US says there is no proof & labeled it propaganda. Yet, in the States, Vietnam veterans who handled Agent Orange can claim compensation for a whole range of other diseases recognized as being associated with dioxin.

10 years after its first Qana Massacre in 1996 at the U.N. Base in Qana Village, Israel kills more than 63 Lebanese refugees including 42 children at the same Village.
1 day before on July 29th, Israel rejected a request by the U.N. for a 3-day Cease-fire in Lebanon to deliver humanitarian supplies & allow civilians to leave the war zone.
The Innocent Lebanese Civilians were killed at Qana by MK-84 Laser Guided Bombs (LGB) with BSU-37/B (Bomb Stabilization Units). These Bombs are Precision-Guided Munitions (PGM) & were manufactured by the U.S. Company Raytheon for the U.S. Navy & Air Force.
The MK-84 LGB, which weights 2000 lbs (907 kg) & has 948 lbs (430 kg) explosive power, features accuracy, reliability & cost-effectiveness previously unobtainable in conventional weapons.
The Innocent Refugees were chased from Home to Home, destroying each Home they hid in, until they reached the edge of Qana Village where they were targeted around 1 o'clock after mid-night. The MK-84 Bombs were dropped by US-Made F16s warplanes & Laser-guided by US-Made Apache helicopters that followed the Civilians.

Israel hits again, this time ‘mistakenly’ targeting 57 innocents, 27 of those were helpless kids, all hiding in the basement of what they thought to be a safe refuge, in the Southern town of Qana. Qana, the same town where Israel ‘mistakenly’ massacred more than a hundred innocents 10 years ago, also seeking refuge in a clearly marked UN compound.
